Oscar Garcia is a visual artist based in Sydney. Born 1979 in Lima Peru, he arrived in Australia at the age of ten.
His paintings comprise both real and imagined scenery, commonly depicting images of familiar sights and local places of interest, which he surveys and often photographs for reference before rendering a final arrangement of oil on canvas.
His subject matter is inspired by narratives, most of which he finds within landscapes shaped by human activity. Whilst trying to remain an objective observer, he explores these concepts through painting.
